The German States have known peace for centuries. Nestled between two great empires, the Anglo-French Empire to the west, and the Polish Empire to the east, they have been playing a balancing game. If His Imperial Highness to the west was to demand even a single sovereign in taxes, or if His Slavonic Majesty to the east advanced as much as a single yard across the borders, then the German States would scream for assistance from the other side, and probably get it. But now, less than a week after the death of Casimir IX of Poland, and the disappearance of his son and Heir Stanislaw, the spectre of war looms over the German States.

Tucked away in a tight valley of the River Murg, Castle Gernsbach guards a minor Pass though the mountains that form the border of the Anglo-French Empire. It is here that the fate of Europe may well be decided, as the Rulers of Bavaria, Hanover, Hesse and Prussia meet in secret with His Imperial Highness John IV of the Anglo-French Empire.

A single session Freeform set in the world of Randall Garrett's Lord Darcy stories. A world where the laws of Magic were scientifically discovered during the Reign of Richard the Lionheart. Knowledge of the Lord Darcy stories is not essential, but if you can find them, they are worth the effort!
